Excel Compare tool preview

This Excel Compare page is built for privacy-first spreadsheet review. Excel files are read in your browser, the Excel Compare result is generated locally, and your workbook data is not uploaded to a remote server during normal use.

Excel Compare helps you inspect row-level changes across reports, QA exports, inventory sheets, pricing lists, and operational data. The online Excel Compare result highlights same, changed, added, and removed rows so spreadsheet changes are easier to review.

How Excel Compare Works

The basic Excel Compare logic reads spreadsheet content locally from XLSX, XLS, CSV, or TSV input. For workbook files, Excel Compare extracts each sheet and converts it into a local text representation so the comparison can stay in the browser.

Each sheet is serialized into rows, and workbook sections are labeled with a `### Sheet:` heading. Excel Compare also trims trailing empty rows and cells so the comparison focuses on meaningful spreadsheet content instead of extra blank regions.

After normalization, Excel Compare performs a line-by-line diff with visible line numbers on both sides. This makes Excel Compare practical for tabular reviews even when the original source came from a multi-sheet workbook.

How to Use Excel Compare

Paste tabular data into both editors, or use Open file on each side to upload complete Excel or CSV files. Excel Compare supports `.xlsx`, `.xls`, `.csv`, and `.tsv` style input for full-file comparison.

The editor header shows the current line count for each side, which helps you confirm how much spreadsheet content was loaded. If needed, use Format Sheet to normalize pasted table content before running Excel Compare.

Click Compare Excel to generate the Excel Compare result, then review the output panes with line counts and highlighted row differences. Use Clear All to reset both spreadsheet inputs and start another Excel Compare session.
